Global wealth management leader launches Graystone Consulting

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, a leading global wealth management firm, has formed Graystone Consulting, a business unit that will provide high-level investment consulting services to institutional and High Net Worth investors.

“Graystone is a distinct business that enables accomplished investment consulting teams to draw upon Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s asset allocation and investment manager research and analytics,” says Patrick Schussman, CFA, CIMA, Director of the newly founded Graystone Consulting.

Morgan Stanley's new consulting arm is comprised of 30 teams across North America, each led by one or more Institutional Consulting Directors.

Graystone Consulting grew out of Citi Institutional Consulting, a consulting business launched in 2006 that is ranked fourth on the list of the top 25 largest investment consulting firms in the U.S.

James Tracy, Director of the Consulting Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, said: “Based on the expertise within our teams and our unsurpassed research capabilities, we are confident Graystone Consulting will continue the legacy of Citi Institutional Consulting and grow into an even more powerful presence in the investment consulting community. We are especially well-prepared to deliver the advice clients need as the markets continue to recover.”
